Birdie Pitcher: handmade with white stoneware clay, thrown on pottery wheel and altered
My favorite part of being a potter is the freedom to create shapes I don't see everyday. When creating different mug shapes and altering wheel thrown forms, I started making this shape that seemed so bird-like. I've always loved drawing birds and their feathers and patterns, so the 'Birdie Pitcher' was born. I love making these pitchers in a series, and shaping the clay to fit these birds and their personalities.
This is a perfect gift for a bird watcher, or someone who enjoys bringing some fun to their breakfast table. Works as a syrup pitcher, creamer or a wildflower vase.
Pitcher is approximately 3.5"tall x 3.75" wide, at narrowest part. The width from the back of the handle to the tip of the spout is 5.5"
Glaze is food safe, ok to use in microwave or dishwasher. But to protect and maintain finish and surface decoration, hand washing is best.
